Citisoles

Attention stiletto wearing Nestlettes: In case of emergency, slip on a pair of Citisoles! These foldable ballet flats are packaged in a compact case which can be discretely tucked away in your handbag and pulled out when you arches become unbearably achy. They are functional while maintaining a respectable amount of fashion sense – a match made in heaven (your feet will agree). Only being in my first quarterlife of the stiletto wearing lifespan (I think that by 60, you trade in for a kitten heel- if not by choice, I am sure that 4 decades of 4-inch spikes will do an orthopedic number on your pedis.), I already know that these spare pairs will come in handy.

Thanksgiving is only one week away – are you cookin? If so, my hat goes of too you. I have never done it, but it looks like a lot of work! If you are dedicating yourself to gobbling, go forth in your elastic waist pants! This Nestlette might be forgoing the traditional turkey for a Thanksgiving chicken, but she still plans on making Corn Bread Chestnut Stuffing and Mashed Potatoes with Bacon and Chives!

Lunch Note Promise

November 18th, 2009

Here is a campaign that sounds Nestlette worthy – the Lunch Note Promise by Lunchables (remember those?) Whether it was a Lunchable or a homemade lunch with cookie cuttered pb&j, my mom always put a note in my bag – a tradition that I now keep when making my boyfriend’s lunch and will continue to do when I have a kid carting of to school. Whether it is words of encouragement or a picture you drew – it just has to be thoughtful, let them know you are thinking about them, make them feel good about themselves and smile. This action proves the old adage true: Doing something small can make the biggest difference. Not only in your loved ones life but for someone else too. Make a promise and Lunchables will give a free meal to a child in need so they can do their best too.

Quelf

I can not for the life of me remember who told me about this game but I remember thinking that it sounded like so much fun! I wanted to buy it, but could not remember the name of it, and now I recently saw it on the shelf and it is called Quelf. Among your closest friends and family, with a few noggie toddies, this might be lots of fun to play at a one of the many holiday parties of the season.

UV lights for your pearly whites

We have had the Violight Toothbrush Sanitizer for almost a year now and it has turned out to be a great investment. Think about it – you brush your teeth to get rid of the icky stuff but where does that icky stuff go? Your toothbrush. Yet, like that dingy disgusting kitchen sponge that you have not replaced in two months, you let that icky stuff reside in your toothbrush – right next to the toilet – and keep on using it. Gross. So, if you and your family are going to let your germ-infested toothbrushes drip together in the same toothbrush holder, let it be a Violight!

One of my favorite snicky snacks – Popcorn! No movie, no theatre, no butter required. A great accomplice for a night of watching guilty television pleasures.

Roomba for you, Scooba for me

Just when you think you got the job done, you proudly glance around the room and then, you spot it – the dust bunny. Sneaky lil fuzzer. So you walk over thinking you can show him who’s boss. You humbly pick him up and then, just when you think you got em, another one appears, lurking and taunting you. Nasty lil creatures.
