I have been on the quest for the perfect tote! What I have found is that finding the perfect tote has the Goldilocks effect – too big, too small, too stiff, too shapeless, etc. What I wanted was a tote that could hold big things without looking cumbersome, one that could be taken to an interview but be suitable for the beach. I finally found what I was looking for while shopping a sale at Banana – a cream colored buttery leather tote with sterling colored suede lining and straps just long enough to comfortable slip over a shoulder but short enough to be carried by hand. Bigger than a handbag and small than a piece of luggage – it is perfect. And it was the last one, already reduced with an additional 25% – a sign and a steal if you ask me. I love the shape, love this print and I love this bag. The Charleston Tote in Make Me Blush by Vera Bradley might just be the perfect summer bag – for the beach, for a road trip, for camping! Summer means new bikini, new flip flops, maybe a new haircut and definitely a good excuse for a new bag.

There are many options when it comes to hairspray but not too many when it comes to one for traveling. There is the Dove for a dollar in a spritzer bottle (hair-spritzer? Not a good idea. Traveling is stressful enough without having a bad hair day and a spritzer just doesn’t cut it.). Or, there is the overpriced Fekkai option which gives you less for more (it’s okay – but it’s not “wow” for the price).

My choice is Elnett Satin Hairspray by L’Oreal – at first for travel, but now for an everyday spray. It has great hold, but keeps your hair feeling soft (which is a must when you are traveling and want to get out and enjoy the day (or night) with a respray and not the song and dance of reshampooing, reblowdrying, etc.). It smells really nice and, if you can believe it, this hairspray in the gold can makes you fell glam – what more could you want?!

Some people collect cars, some people collect shoes (some people collect Red Rose tea figurines…) – and sometimes denim is treated like a collectible too. Your favorite pair of jeans are never easily replaceable. Sure you can get another pair, but it won’t be your pair – the pair that has been with you through think and thin, the pair that always fit like a glove and make you look your thinnest even on your oompa-loompa days.
