Testing patience, making bread

My bestie Stephie’s cousin made this Lemon Focaccia and she said it was delicious. She sent me the recipe this morning, so read the ingredients and headed to the grocery store so that I would be able to make it with dinner tonight. Had I read the entire recipe (you know, those things called directions that we always accuse men of not following), I would have known to start the bread as soon as I got home. From start to finish, it takes about 6 hours. It is now 5 o’clock in the evening and since I already started step one, I am going to make it – it will be a nice midnight snack.

Love grapes (white grapes, purple grapes, grapples). Not fond of the raisin. So, my oatmeal sans raisin cookies rely on the grapes better half – peanut butter! Here is my variation of a Martha Stewart recipe.

Home sweet Gingerbread home

A traditional gingerbread house made with…Gingerbread! Lots of candy bits and endless possibilities. By Wilton, their pre-baked Gingerbread House Kit makes it easy(ier). Looks like gingerbread, but it is graham crackers! (And Oreos and Nilla wafers – yummy) And if you do not care for gum drops (st-icky), use M&Ms. Does not look like gingerbread [...]

One of my favorite parts of getting a coif-do is the warm greeting by Aveda Comforting Tea. I love the blend of licorice root (makes it sweet and spicy) and peppermint (gives it a soothing coolness even though its piping hot). While on an anise kick, I found a recipe for springerle cookies from Confections of a (Closet) Master Baker. They look like delectable pieces of edible Wedgewood and (even though this is not what the season is about) they are sure to trump the displays of cookie platters at the party.
