If you are reading the title, you might have gasped and be thinking what a terrible thing to shoo a Jimmy Choo. Please don’t report us – we welcome all shoes including Choo’s. Shoo, Jimmy Choo is the title of a book – The modern girls guide to spending less and saving more.

The Art of the Compliment

It is not just about giving, it is about receiving as well. If you are thinking, “Receiving? Say thank you!,” it is not that easy. As anticipated, when you go home for the holidays, you are bound to run into someone you know. I ran into an acquaintance from grad school. While we don’t know each other well, we had shared enough classes together to stop and say, “Hello.” Friendly banter since we don’t know anything personal about one another – how are you? do you have a job? Awkward pause…”Well, you look good!” she says. “Thank you!” I reply. And then, more awkward silence. And finally I said, “So do you!” but I was too late and that was obvious. We parted ways and I let out a sigh of relief that I was free from the small talk.

This book caught my attention, not only because of the great cover art, but also because recently I attempted to make my own curtains. Nothing fancy (which they aren’t), just to keep the city light out a bit (which they do). I took the easy option and used Heat & Bond with an iron yet sewing on the mind.

Sophie la Giraffe

Here’s something to chew on. Sophie the Giraffe is designed to stimulate the senses (she makes a happy sound when squeezed) and soothe teething gums (safe for babies’ mouths). A French classic for your drooling bundle of joie.

Always a New Year’s Resolution of mine – to keep a journal. I have a collection of quasi-filled journals, all recalling the events of January **** and usually ending around March ****. But then, what usually happens is, I forgot to write something down or too many things are happening at once so I need [...]

One of a Nestlettes’ favorite authors – Cecelia Ahern. From P.S. I Love You to Thanks for the Memories, I have never been disappointed by her stories. And just in time for the holidays, another thoughtful novel – The Gift.

Take a look, it’s in a Nook

At first, I was skeptical of the integrity of an electronic book. I love books! I love reading books, but moreover, I love looking at books on the book shelf, I love browsing books at the bookstore and I love holding a book, unknowingly flipping the pages with my fingers delicately or quickly as the intensity of the plot shifts. But then, I saw the commercial for the Nook. A catchy tune and creative visual – I was captivated and when I went to Barnes & Noble this week, I saw a strategically placed information (on paper, ironically) about the Nook and now I would like to be a Nestlette with a Nook.
