This Summer in Winter Chicken recipe is fresh as a sunny day and comforting as a winter’s night. Made with only a handful of ingredients, the dish is simple, flavorful and quick to whip up too. Crème Fraîche. If you don’t have it or don’t feel like buying it, you’ll need to give yourself a day’s notice so that you can make your own. All you need to do is:
Stir 2 tablespoons of buttermilk into 2 cups of heavy cream in a glass quart-size jar.
Cover the jar with a piece of cheese cloth (or paper towel) and rubber band. Let it stand at room temperature until it reaches desired thickness, about 8 to 24 hours and continuing to thicken over time. Give it a stir, then refrigerate up to two weeks.
