Oh, to hack with it!

February 20th, 2012

Everyone loves Ikea. It’s hard not to get caught up in the commotion after a walk through the Swedish showrooms, seeing everything work so well together from room-to-room and flipping over price tags that beat most bargain outlets. Then we bring it home, put it together and, nine times out of ten, we realize that you get what you pay for. Let’s face it, the stuff is crap. But, we just can’t stay away.

You go to Ikea with the intention that anything you buy will only be temporary. Then five, ten years later there is a Billy bookcase in every room and you’re wondering what the heck you can do with them (because even if you didn’t pay much, you still pay something and besides that, you’d feel incredibly wasteful putting such a big heap of particleboard at the curb). So what do you do? Hack it! IKEA Hackers is the place to go to find easy ways to jazz up your old Ikea furniture.

Nestlette Recommends:

Tocca Candles

The Tiare flower is as beautiful a symbol of the island of Tahiti as its native people. Its pure essence combined with the sweetness of coconut pays homage to the sensual tranquility of this most alluring of islands.
