DIY fruit & veggie wash

November 5th, 2011

Every body likes organic but your budget says not today. Just because your expensive taste might have to be put on hold doesn’t mean your healthy attitude should take a back seat. Solution? A solution! Spray it on fruits and veggies to kill bacteria and remove pesky pesticides for nothing but squeaky clean healthy produce.

Fruit & Veggie Cleaner

1 cup water
1 cup distilled white vinegar
1 tablespoon baking soda
1/2 a lemon or 20 drops of grapefruit extract

Combine all ingredients and pour into a spray bottle. Spray cleaner on produce, let sit for 5 minutes then rinse thoroughly.

Sophie la Giraffe

Here’s something to chew on. Sophie the Giraffe is designed to stimulate the senses (she makes a happy sound when squeezed) and soothe teething gums (safe for babies’ mouths). A French classic for your drooling bundle of joie.

Great idea, thanks for sharing! This week I am writing about eating a more healthy Thanksgiving feast, on a budget. Have a wonderful holiday!
