Jingles
One of my favorite parts of getting a coif-do is the warm greeting by Aveda Comforting Tea. I love the blend of licorice root (makes it sweet and spicy) and peppermint (gives it a soothing coolness even though its piping hot).
Do you know what would be perfect with a cup of this tea? A few Jingle cookies! Do you know which ones I am talking about? Not the new Jingles – the original Jingles! Before they sold out to the elves. So now they are “Santa’s Favorites” but when I say “Jingle” you know what I mean.
While on an anise kick, I found a recipe for springerle cookies from Confections of a (Closet) Master Baker. They look like delectable pieces of edible Wedgewood and (even though this is not what the season is about) they are sure to trump the displays of cookie platters at the party. i.e., some people show up empty-handed (poo-poo), others bring a bottle of wine (standard issue), you come with champagne (sparkling)!
