Fill your home with the scent of the holidays..

November 4th, 2009

As soon as the first crisp fall day arrives, I’m ready for Christmas. To compromise with my husband, though, I wait until Thanksgiving (or a few days before.. *ahem*) to start my decorating. To get myself excited and prepared, I make my favorite holiday potpourri every year, as soon as Halloween is over. It’s something that even my husband can’t complain about, because it smells that good! So get ready ladies, I am going to share the recipe I use with you!

Christmas Scent Recipe

3 (4-inch) cinnamon sticks
3 bay leaves
1/4 cup whole cloves
1/2 lemon, halved and sliced into thin strips
1/2 orange, halved and sliced into thin strips
1 quart water

Combine all ingredients in small saucepan, and bring to boil; reduce heat and let simmer as long as you’d like.

Add water as needed. Lasts for several days (and best if stored in refrigerator).

Enjoy Nestlette’s!

Nestlette Recommends:

Sophie la Giraffe

Here’s something to chew on. Sophie the Giraffe is designed to stimulate the senses (she makes a happy sound when squeezed) and soothe teething gums (safe for babies’ mouths). A French classic for your drooling bundle of joie.
